We are proud to announce the return of the For the Good of Our Community Fund for 2025. Since the fund was established in the fall of 2021, we have invested $480,000 across 38 programs and organizations focused on creating positive, lasting impacts throughout Nova Scotia.
The For the Good of Our Community Fund awards grants of up to $20,000 to selected charities and non-profit organizations working to address areas of critical community need within Nova Scotia.
To apply for the fund, download and fill out the fillable PDF form below. Once completed, send your application to csr@mynslc.com by January 7, 2025.
Due to the volume of applications, not all applicants will receive funding. For those who are awarded, the grant may not be in the full amount requested.
When Are Applications Open?
Applications for the 2025 For the Good of Our Community Fund will be accepted from December 3, 2024 to January 7, 2025. Grant recipients will be notified in March 2025.
Who is Eligible for Funding?

Organizations must be working to address areas of critical community need within Nova Scotia.

Preference will be given to organizations working on projects and initiatives that promote inclusivity and provide strong benefits to equity seeking or other underserved groups and communities.

Preference will be given to organizations that have impact throughout the province of Nova Scotia.

Projects and initiatives must have alignment with our investment focus area of community well-being. By investing in the below fundamentals, we can contribute to the health and well-being of our communities and enhance physical spaces, creating opportunities of care and connection.

Past Recipients of the For the Good of Our Community Fund
Since the fund was established in 2021, the NSLC has provided grants to 38 organizations focused on making Nova Scotia a better place to live. These funds have been used to support a wide range of programs, including starting a new community kitchen, maintaining conservation lands, creating community gardens, creating safe places for those needing mental health support and so much more.
