Shelter Movers Nova Scotia is a volunteer-powered charitable organization providing free moving and storage services to individuals and families fleeing abuse. As the only organization in Nova Scotia offering this vital service, Shelter Movers Nova Scotia directly addresses the safety and logistical challenges survivors face when leaving abusive environments. Funds raised through the NSLC will support free moving and storage services to remove the financial and logistical barriers that often prevent survivors from leaving unsafe environments. These services are frequently the first step in securing safe, affordable housing, where families can begin to rebuild their lives.
Adsum Association for Women and Children provides shelter, housing, and support programs to women, families and gender-diverse people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Funds raised through the NSLC will support a program that will provide individuals and families funds to pay for expenses to prevent eviction, and find, move into and keep stable housing.
