Located on historic Guysborough harbour, Authentic Seacoast’s facilities and experiences are unique as the only combined distillery-brewery-vineyard-apiary-hopyard in the world, where accommodations are offered including at Distillery House, Glamping at the Vineyard and DesBarres Manor Inn. Visitors are invited to take a facility tour, participate in an informative workshop, go for a walk on its hiking trail network, rent a sea kayak and explore Mussel Cove, or experience fine east coast cuisine at DesBarres Manor Inn. Authentic Seacoast’s recent acquisition of Acadian Maple further enhances the culinary options as we handcraft new spirits, beers, coffees and other authentically Nova Scotian foods and beverages. 

Fortress Rum, awarded NSLC Spirit of the Year (2016), is one of the most celebrated local products in Nova Scotia. Restoring a 300+ year tradition, Fortress Rum is matured at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site and produced at Authentic Seacoast’s showcase distillery in Guysborough. A premium, richly-hued over-proof amber rum, delivers aromas of oak, vanilla and tropical fruit. Smooth and well structured, you’ll discover notes of fig, vanilla, spice and toasted oak.
