Buzzcut Season

Created by Jenner Cormier, named Canada’s Best Bartender by Diageo World Class Canada in 2013, this cocktail makes seasonal ingredients, like cherries, the star of the show.

Ingredients

1/4 oz fresh cherry juice
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz honey syrup*
1/4 oz Hutchinson’s Ginger Wine
3/4 oz vodka

*To make the honey syrup, combine equal parts honey and water into a saucepan and heat over medium-low heat until the mixture reaches a simmer. Remove from heat and cool. Store at room temperature or refrigerate as desired. Lasts 4 weeks in the refrigerator.

Directions

Fill the cocktail shaker with ice and shake hard for 8–12 seconds. 
Strain the cocktail into a tall glass over ice. 
Top the cocktail with a few ounces of dry sparkling wine or soda water.
Garnish the cocktail with a healthy sprig of fresh mint, two straws and a fresh cherry to finish (optional).
