    It’s never been so hip to be retro, especially in the cocktail world. The classic Manhattan dates back to the 1800s, and is enjoying a huge resurgence in popularity.

    1¼ fl oz whisky

    1/4 fl oz sweet vermouth

    Dash Angosutra bitters

    Maraschino cherry

    Directions

    1. Place whisky, vermouth and bitters in a cocktail shaker.

    2. Stir for 15 to 20 seconds.

    3. Strain into a chilled martini glass or ice-filled rocks glass.

    4. Garnish with a cherry.
